runner-up

A new connective tissue (the green flat) puts in to a system great thoroughfares, sprawling urban fabrics, green urban and rural areas, existing and new residences. The project tries to ease the tensions of different ways of going all over today’s town. The project proposes a new kind of urban life improving all types of moving and reducing needs of moving at the same time; new life’s solutions start: people can work at home or near it, do shopping in their multifunctional hub, live new kinds of social interactions and free time. Everything usually vertically synthesized today (skyscraper) now is  stretched out on the ground with its layers: from skyscraper to “landscraper”.

This project is connected to the following themes

Shared spaces - Programmatic patchwork

Instead of adopting the skyscraper approach, the “landscraper” project seeks to develop a patchwork of different programmes. This design creates the conditions for a richer social life and new patterns of living.
