1. How do you define the main issues of your project in relation with the theme “Re-sourcing”? Re-sourcing thanks to nature, to social dynamics, to new materiality? In which way do you think your project can contribute to an ecological and/or social evolution? And in which way do you think your project can be called a “regenerative project”?
The core issue is the transformation of the rail line causing a rupture that damages cohesion, nature, and vitality. The RE-SOURCING strategy mobilizes: Nature: RE-NATURALIZATION restores ecological continuity and manages flood risks. Social Dynamics: RE-CONNECTION links human flows. New Materiality: RE-ACTIVATION transforms empty plots and buildings into civic grounds, driven by citizens and local materials. The project is regenerative by transforming the fracture into an "opportunity belt" through urban, ecological, and social renewal.

2. How did the issues of your design and the questions raised by the site mutation meet?
The project addresses the railway rupture not with a single fix, but with a coherent, ambitious, and open plan. The strength lies in this holistic vision. It acts as a platform for collaboration among stakeholders and citizens. This open approach allows the three strategies—RE-NATURALIZATION, RE-CONNECTION, and RE-ACTIVATION—to guide the transformation of the fractured area while remaining open to co-creation and in this way resilient to future changes.

3. Have you treated these issues previously? What were the reference projects that inspired yours?
Yes, we have diverse experience in urban and mobility projects. The team was recently awarded a 3rd prize and a 2nd prize in different urban space competitions. Relevant Projects: Some team members worked on projects while at Urban Agency in Copenhagen, such as the Lille Langebro bridge and the Wolfsburg bridge. Inspirational References: The team learned a lot from the urban projects of Batlleiroig. They also learned significantly from the collaborative urbanism practiced by arenasbasabepalacios, drawing inspiration from both their teaching and their projects.

4. How can your project be implemented together with the actors through a negotiated process and in time. How did you consider this issue in your project?
Implementation is achieved through a negotiated, participatory process involving three Collaborative Tables. Table 1 (Environmental Experts): Shapes the RE-NATURALIZATION strategy, providing input on biodiversity, flood management, and urban ecology to ensure environmental resilience. Table 2 (Infrastructural Experts & Institutions): Brings together ADIF, local planning, and mobility experts to ensure new infrastructures support the comprehensive RE-CONNECTION network. Table 3 (Local Citizens & Social Groups): Acts as the driver for the RE-ACTIVATION strategy, ensuring public spaces are programmed for inclusivity and relevance to real community needs.

5. How did you form the team for the competition and if so what are the skills you associated?
The team formed in 2024, building on a long-standing acquaintance, to test their collaboration through competitions. They believe that ideas competitions can yield the best projects and that well-designed urban spaces can significantly improve citizens' lives. The team consists of architects with diverse international experience, ranging from small studios to large firms: Borja: Specialized in 3D, rendering and visual storytelling. Luis: Possesses strong research experience, enabling the formulation of a coherent and structured response to complex urban issues. Jaime: Highly skilled in drawing and brings a very creative perspective to the team.

6. How could this prize help you in your professional career?
Winning Europan is a profound honor for our team. As the prize is internationally recognized and highly prestigious, this achievement grants us significant credibility. For a young practice, it represents a crucial opportunity to start setting its own path and to undertake larger, more complex projects. Critically, being winners allows us to engage directly with the institutional stakeholders and other actors involved in Navalmoral de la Mata. This direct connection is the essential first step required to advance our proposal toward reality.
