The Adaptable City, Inserting Urban Rhythms
A European forum was organised during the preparation of the twelfth session to gather the site representatives (representatives, developers, urban planners, experts) and the organisers to discuss the issues and problematics of the mutations on the sites proposed to the session. The first day, animated by members of the Europan Scientific Committee, was divided into 2 debates on the issues of the session: the themes and the implementation processes to follow.
Survey - How do cities consider Europan?
A survey was carried out before the forum with the sites representatives from the previous Europan session to gather their views on the competition: themes, procedures, implementation processes and more generally the quality of the results in relation to the investment in time, person and money. Here is a summary of what they said…
Debate 1 - Europan 12 theme: Experts and Cities Points of view
How does the general theme of the Europan 12 competition —The Adaptable City— resonate towards the site representatives, within the general policy areas at the scale of their cities, their conurbation and within the specific contexts of the proposed sites?
Debate 2 - Implementation Processes: How to develop them?
The goal in Europan is to launch operational processes that could adopt different shapes after the competition and with a maximum of winning teams. How do the Europan 12 cities imagine these processes in the current crisis climate in the architectural order?
