The area is made up of three different parts: the house’s texture; the urban park in which are located the citizen facility centre and the services related to sport and spare time; and the big building lifted over the ground, which becomes the disconnecting element of the house’s warping, hosting and, at the same time the connecting element of the city’s functions by hosting a city museum and the services for the area.
The centrality of common living is fundamental for a continuous exchange between different cultures and different life styles. So the urban space is conceived as a collective space and as the connection between the spaces given by the composition of the houses’ volumes. The houses’ carpet is composed by lodgings, dimensioned 5.40 x 7.20 and 7.20 x 10.80 meters, makes up the built areas sewing them with outdoor courts and common spaces. The structure of the system, based on supporting walls, is extremely flexible in order to have the possibility of functional change throughout the years. In this way the space assigned today to the residential function can be transformed tomorrow into laboratories and small stores. It has been generated also a space shared by two or more lodgings. This solution refers to a way of generating the city by adding and joining, like many ancient villages.
