“Rewind Galicia” is a laboratory of Galician landscape forms. It is a solution to populate the land – the homeland (terruño) – with productive housing and meeting spaces. It is a visual document which works with preexisting shapes in the area (castros, hórreos, stone walls, smallholding …)and new forms of domestic energy, in order to reconstruct and remodel an hybrid image of life and landscape. The Galician scenes are reassembled as film to create a new time-space. The proposal is to populate this rural-urban interstice by spatializing the images of this encounter. Creating communal chambers of landscape – the camera obscura phenomenon – in which to focus social energy. These interstitial zones work on material relations between lanscape images and life. “Rewind Galicia” works to reveal a landscape practised as a common space.

This project is connected to the following themes
Housing - Morphology
A genuine “laboratory for the creation of Galician landscapes”, the project ignores local forms and aesthetics to compose sensory images that stimulate and reveal the landscape to create a shared space for the local communities.
Nature - Hybridity / Juxtaposition
The interstices between rural and urban space become places for the testing of hybrid landscapes. Rather than a formal response, the project seeks to produce this hybridity through the local actors and existing dynamics.
