Team point of view
The territory of Stains has been the theatre of the paradigms of urbanity of the last century. Rather than proposing a new absolute vision of urbanity or a tabula rasa, the transformation of the voids left to the city will allow the urban life of Stains to be reinvented.
At a time of the Greater Paris and its metropolitan network, it is therefore above all not the autonomy of the 19th century garden city that we should be looking for, but rather hyper-connectivity. The site must therefore be thought of as an entity interacting with all the components of the metropolis, following a logic of complementarity and not self-sufficiency.
The void is a vector of browsability. The void qualifies the programmes. The void imposes evolutivity.
Jury point of view
By proposing a principle of activation of the public space around the lens, the project develops a relevant and economical strategy that takes the existing uses into account. The question of crossings is clearly addressed and allows the launch of a long-term process that accompanies the creation of the station hub and the implementation of public spaces and quality equipment.
