The aim is to create a new urbanity for Milton Keynes and by extension for new developments in rural and semi rural environments. Any built forms in these contexts must tread carefully as there is no ‘undo’ button when it comes to nature. The project wanted to preserve the character of the existing nature and environment as much as possible, whilst making a real townscape rather than a purely suburban pattern of development. Six dwelling types are outlined integrated into urban blocks, separated by an existing mature hedgerow. The scheme has a fully integrated sustainable energy proposal expressed outwardly in the character of the buildings.

This project is connected to the following themes
Housing - Typology
Small strip housing typologies are introduced along the streets, reshaping the street frontage and offering a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional vernacular housing and its urban form.
