In a step towards further spatial coherency, the proposal unifies the dispersed green spaces, and in the same gesture, interrelates existing amenities such as the churches, pub and community centre in a more coherent conversation. The two sites, ‘A’ and ‘B’, adopt two different configurations, suited to their respective situations. Site A encloses its block, following the cue of its neighbour to the immediate north. Site B, for its own part, opens up to the public spaces of the Pond and new patio seating for the Stonebridge Hotel, allowing pedestrian through-traffic to traverse. The buildings proposed for both sites A and B contain a mix of three residential types: the House, the Flat, and the Loft.

This project is connected to the following themes
Housing - Community
The interior variability of the two housing complexes – “House Flat and Loft” – is combined in a linear frame that “unifies the scattered green spaces”. The linear structures are the outcome of an urban operation rather than applying the serial principles of collective housing.
Shared spaces - A Frame for social life
The exterior green spaces are unified into two new, larger urban spaces with a strong identity, framed by the new housing blocks: an open park and a pond.
Nature - Limit / Reconnection
Two impressive linear buildings demarcate two vast landscape public spaces, one vegetal, the other aquatic.
