1. How did you form the team for the competition?
The team had already been working together for over 3 years, developing a wide range of projects in our architecture studio.

2. How do you define the main issue of your project, and how did you answer on this session main topic, Living cities?
Our vision/goal is to facilitate the users’ progressive adaptation to the urban and social context of the Project. This way the neighbourhood becomes an area that evolves dynamically to respond to its ever changing needs.

3. How did the issues on metabolic and inclusive vitalities and the questions raised by the site mutation meet?
The constant change is one of the engines of our Project. Our proposal doesn’t focus on a particular element, rather on the continuous adaptation to the users’ needs over time.
4. Have you treated this issue previously? What were the reference projects that inspired yours?
We have always been interested in housing rehabilitation to improve energy efficiency, accessibility and sustainability. In this case there is also an urban and social component that makes the challenge even more interesting. We were inspired by Lacaton and Vassal.
5. Urban-architectural projects like the ones in Europan can only be implemented together with the actors through a negotiated process and in time. How did you consider this issue in your project?
In our Project, involving all actors was the starting point. For us it was paramount to create a space for discussion as inclusive as possible for all stakeholders: neighbours, seasonal workers, administration, owners and ourselves as the  designing team.

6. Is it the first time you have been awarded a prize at Europan? How could this help you in your professional career?
Yes, it is our first award in Europan. Being awarded in Europan16 is a great professional challenge, as well as a great opportunity to carry out a project with great social and citizen participation. One of our team members, Martina Almela, was part of the Europan15 winning team OOIIO, in Casar de Cáceres (ES) though.

Has your team, together or separately, already conceived or implemented some projects and/or won any competition? if yes, which ones?
We were awarded second price on two contest: “Public swimming pools” Avila (2020) and “Bread factory rehabilitation and social housing” Vigo (2018), as well as several honorable mentions. Until now we haven’t been able to implement the projects presented.

Does your team share a common workplace? if yes, give us a short description:
Our team has two offices, one in Málaga and one in Madrid. The Málaga office is located in a traditional Andalusian patio, an open courtyard full of light and vegetation. The Madrid office is right in the historical centre, with views over the city’s rooftops landscape.
