1. How do you define the main issues of your project in relation with the theme “Re-sourcing”? Re-sourcing thanks to nature, to social dynamics, to new materiality? In which way do you think your project can contribute to an ecological and/or social evolution? And in which way do you think your project can be called a “regenerative project”?
Font del Gos has a special relationship with nature; the landscape is the greatest resource for its inhabitants. Not just as raw materials to be extracted, but as a spiritual source and strong identity for locals. The project is rooted in the barrio's connection with the hill, expressing itself through a catalog of housing, economic, ecological, and social solutions.
2. How did the issues of your design and the questions raised by the site mutation meet?
The barrio’s position as an urban and natural frontier allowed us to explore resource recovery in a context of geographical and social fragility. Through thinning interventions and urban infrastructure, we addressed the growing housing precariousness. Interventions on the social center and agricultural economy aim to foster belonging while repairing the fragile bond with local administrations.
PROJECT:
The issues raised by Europan 18 have always been present, ever since our university studies in studios as well as other architectural competitions we have participated. Tactical urban planning, tested in our early career, was fundamental into this project. We drew inspiration from Christoph Hesse Architects and Carles Enrich's Studio focus on principles of self-sufficiency and rural regeneration.
SITE:
The project as a catalogue of interconnected actions suits a development in phases. This process begins with self-construction involving residents, designers, and the municipality. These micro-interventions create the cooperative environment needed for structured interventions like thinning operations or implementing an economic system: agricultural enterprise and local market.
REFERENCES:
We all studied together at the University of Ferrara where each one of us explored a variety of topics. The ones we addressed in this competition had already been partially developed in our individual academic theses: landscape, urban planning and design and building typologies. These experiences and the plurality of our visions allowed us to deal with the complexity of the aspects present in the site.
6. How could this prize help you in your professional career?
The Europan experience has been and will be fundamental for our future careers. As young architects, the opportunity to work on a complex territory like Font Del Gos, supported by the municipality, fills us with excitement and responsibility. This challenging experience will allow us to acquire significant design and professional knowledge for our future.

Has your team, together or separately, already conceived or implemented some projects and/or won any competition? if so, which ones?
We have experienced together group projects in university. Although each one of us works in different studios and cities, privately some have participated in other competitions together. A. Marcon, P. Vitale, A. Theodoridis, and F. Veneruso have won a 3rd place in the international competition for the Lignano Waterfront. Meanwhile, F. Ciudino and F. Marchetta are engaged in the realization of some small-scale residential projects.
