How to create a vision for the Anttila area. The competitors are asked to propose new use for the old buildings and to incorporate housing for the site. What kind of production could fit in the old protected buildings? How will food production evolve in the future? What kinds of facilities will it require? How could production and housing coexist in Anttila in a new way?

Anttila Farm Incubator
The project proposes an innovative farming community, where agricultural pilot projects take place and are supported by a diversity of infrastructures, services, residences and research. The Anttila Farmer Incubator combines the regeneration of the agricultural heritage with the research and development of new agricultural techniques and products, to promote a more sustainable and environmentally respectful community.

CREATING A FARM INCUBATOR AS AN ENGINE FOR COMMUNITY REGENERATION
The detailed plan for the Anttila farm, entrusted to the winning team, is combined with and supported by a report on the circular economy concept. The lake shore development project is entrusted to the runner-up team.
During the different phases, two design options were developed and discussed and, in the end, mixed into one single Masterplan. The street typologies were further developed, and shadow analysis were drafted for different seasons and times of the day, resulting in the reshaping of the Masterplan.
In the final masterplan, Anttila's detailed plan retains the original competition concept and creates an innovative farming community where pilot projects are supported by a diversity of infrastructures, services, housing and a research centre – the proposed Anttila Farm Incubator. . It proposes a regenerative, accessible and recycle ecosystem with: optimized agro-productive process; transformative and flexible spaces and buildings; reuse and recycling materials; reduction and reuse of waste; use of renewable energy sources; and promotion of green mobility.

Following the competition, the winning team was tasked with developing a detailed urban plan for the site, accompanied by a study on the concept of the circular economy.

For this work, 3 workshops were organised, each of which enabled the feedback and aspirations of stakeholders and citizens to be incorporated into the project.
Participation of the Living processes
The preservation of the Natura reserve is a primary concern of the project. The project proposes the creation of a green structure that integrate a variety of functions: preservation, recreation and production.
