Europan 8 Dubrovnik

runner-up

The Greenthebay Park as an urban park where nature joins infrastructure.
Nature is used as an element to  organize public space. Different soils define different areas, trees are placed to give shade and topography is used as a tool for creating different degrees of privacy. By introducing a more generous circulation over ramps, the different park levels merge together and establish a connection to the sea.

Public space as a sustained element of urbanism
The flowing character of the public space organizes the different programmes as islands and pockets. This system structures both park and buildings and refers to the Mediterranean way of life, where public space is used as the extended living room.
The Greenthebay Park is a new centre for the inhabitants and an attractive leisure zone for tourists, which establishes values, provokes interests and forces investments.
