The development embraces the larger scale – terminating the city-scale rhythm of leisure and health related facilities and announcing the beginning of a preserved area of natural flora and tidal wetlands. Preserved and artificial nature are developed in parallel to structure and program the semi-natural coast. The organic geometries of the naturally evolved flora and water bodies of ‘preserved nature’ contrast with the Cartesian ordering of ‘artificial nature. Larger fields of public use are concentrated in the area between a 400m long building (hotel, apartments and commercial) and the preserved nature park. A landscaped carpet between buildings is composed of patches of textures, plantings, heights, levels of privacy and use. Housing is organized as apartment typologies, urban villas and single-family houses.

This project is connected to the following themes
Mobility - Urban Generator
A new orthogonal grid hovers over the existing natural wetlands, forming a network of new pedestrian routes that irrigate and link the proposed urban structures.
Shared spaces - Intensification by superposition
The project reprogrammes the natural landscape by adding a “second nature” : a network of public spaces, and residential, commercial and social facilities. The project plays on the superimposition of different levels.
Nature - Hybridity / Juxtaposition
The project proposes 2 types of interaction between buildings and the natural environment: the first creates a contrast by the juxtaposition between urban texture and marsh; the second seeks a hybrid form by modifying the morphology of the natural and urban environment by means of a strip texture.
