Europan 18 results catalogue - Re-sourcing
This book offers a unique and attractive panorama of talented young European designers around their proposal to regenerate fragile inhabited milieus at different scales between territorial, urban and architecture.
It presents all of the 153 projects on a European scale, awarded by 10 expert juries during the eighteenth session in 47 sites and 12 participating countries.
Around the theme Re-sourcing, the competitors took care of the territories and places they had to design the evolution of. Very often they have developed the regeneration of the existing natural elements as a starter, opening potentialities to then propose new social dynamics and new ways to connect buildings integrating biomaterials. And the open spaces create hybrid spaces mixing public spaces and nature at different levels.
The ideas of the 45 winners, 47 runners-up and 61 special mentions are presented according to two of the main directions of re-sourcing, themselves divided into 3 sub-thematics:

Re-Sourcing from Social Dynamics
1- Inducing a Second Life
2- Promoting Open Neighbourhoods
3- Creating New Urban Relationships
The six thematic chapters are introduced by articles written by experts (mostly members of the European Europan Scientific Committee) and giving analysis on the rewarded projects.
The specific development challenges of each site and the questions asked to competitors by the cities are recalled. And each project is presented through images, a text from the team and a point of view from the jury
