New excellence pole for the research and the technological development. The project tries to give an answer to these questions proposing an urban concept not only in its real spatial dimension but also enriched with the virtual meaning. The project subtend a substantial “space democratization”, opposite to the interpretation characterized by the yielding to the multitude of public spaces or progressive d-qualification of entire parts of city an territory. It’s oriented to the research at a “planning device” that can be a model characterized necessarily by the possibility to be adopted and modified in the space and in the time. The “device” is represented by the “VOLCANO” that is a repeatable unit, urban cell, divided and joined at the same time to the others volcanoes across the connective space. This “element” create two kinds of places, one internal and another one external, that mediate between the landscape and the infrastructure (existing and in planning). The volcano is also decomposable into three elements: places and areas generated by the elevation of the ground, “terraces” where the internal habitat is addressed to different functions; internal court, an urban public place; volumes inside court and on terraces, public and private functions.

This project is connected to the following themes
Mobility - Social Fields
The new station and its environment are embedded within a continuous landscape, in which buildings are conceived as devices for different kinds of mobility in a continuous connective space.
Nature - Topography / ground
The infrastructures, the existing city and the public spaces are absorbed by the introduction of a unique landscape, a vast continuous stretch of land out of which emerge the new built structures – volcanoes.
